On-Site Alarm Screens began serving Northern California Alarm Companies in the spring of 2004 based on the concept that Alarm Screens can be built on the day of the alarm installation. This had never been done before. Everyone in the alarm industry assumed that the traditional method of sending screens out, and waiting.... and waiting....and waiting for the alarm screens to be completed was the only option. Errors in measuring or design only added weeks to the delivery time. This painful process finally ended when On-Site Alarm Screens started building alarm screens at the customer's location on the day of the alarm installation.
The concept began as a conversation between Ed and Carrie Burnell, a married couple with over forty years of alarm industry experience between the two of them. Carrie knew that alarm screens were an essential part of any good residential alarm system. She knew that the problems in the timely delivery of alarm screens was a major stumbling block for most alarm companies. Alarm companies had drifted away from offering alarm screens to their customers because it had grown to be more trouble than it was worth. Carrie told Ed, "alarm screens should be built while the installers are working on the installation". Ed quickly responded, 'that's brilliant". He knew right away that this was an idea that would change the business. For the next three months, Ed worked on changing the technology of alarm screen building from an in-shop, days long process to a fully-mobile, delivered -same-day process. It worked!!!!
As a measure of the success of the new process, by the end of 2004 nearly EVERY major alarm company in the region has switched to On-Site Alarm Screens. The Service area currently covered by On-Site Alarm Screens include the following Northern California counties:
